Education system CurriculumKinderland (Pre-school)Integrated Language Arts Program (I-LAP) A multi-sensory, thematic approach that combines stories, art, phonics and language experiences to bring meaning to the learning of the alphabet, reading and writing. Activity-Based Language Studies Program (ALSP) Fun and effective ways of learning language other than English, e.g. Bangla, through proven techniques such as songs, stories, drama, movement and penmanship exercises. Math Alive Program (MAP) A meaningful and concrete way to acquire early mathematical concepts through hands-on learning and common materials from the child's environment. Science Discovery Program (SDP) Experiences in the wonderful world of science and discovery enable children to develop process inquiry skills, e.g. observing, classifying, measuring, experimenting, predictying, problem-solving and recording. Creative CurriculumMove with Music Program (MMP)A movement-based music program uniquely designed to nurture, refine and extend young childrens musical abilities and enjoyment through songs, musical stories, precussion instruments and expressive movement. Children's Music Course (CMC) The teaching of sol-fa, keyboarding skills, rudiments of music theory and music appreciation by professional music teachers. Technology Integrated Learning Program (TIL) Children use specially selected software that give them a technological headstart, while learning the basics in language and maths. TIL also enhances children's creativity through the use of computers. Physical CurriculumKinderfitThe program emphasizes a whole-person approach to wellness. It incorporates fun, enjoyable and developmentally appropriate physical activities that promote acquisition of fundamental movement skills as well as the development of self-confidence, responsible habits, team spirit and positive attitude towards a healthy lifestyle. Singapore School (Primary Section) Core Curriculum (First 4 subjects)English Language and LiteratureAt the end of the primary children will be able to listen to, read and view with understanding, accuracy and critical appreciation. Speak, write and make presentations in internationally acceptable English that is grammatical, fluent and appropriate for purpose, audience, context and culture. Children will also be able to write short paragraphs, composition, story, reading, writing skill, make sentences, word meaning, creative writing, questions and answers, and more. Bangla Aims to develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in both formal and informal setting. Mathematics Will enable to acquire and apply skills and knowledge relating to number, measure, algebra, space and geometry in mathematical situations that they will meet in life. Science (P3 on wards) The Primary Science syllabus aims to provide primary pupils with experiences which build on their interest in and stimulate their curiosity about their environment with scientific concepts to help them understand them understand themselves and the world around them. Social Studies At the end of the course, pupils will acquire knowledge of our nation's history, geography and economic activities. Civics and Moral At the end of the Civics and Moral Education, pupils will be able to identify the values that contribute to building moral character such as honesty, respect, personal responsibility, perseverance and moral courage. Art and Crafts The art and Crafts syllabus aims to develop pupils' ability to see, make and appreciate art, set a good foundation for the learning of art in secondary schools, in still in pupils a life-long interest in art. Music The overall aims to Music education are to develop an understanding of and open mind for music of local and global cultures with an awareness and appreciation of the links between music and daily living. Physical Education The Physical education syllabus seeks pupil to learn skills necessary to perform a variety of physical activities. Health Education The syllabus content covers growth, body development and nutritional health, environment health, safety education, mental health. Religious Studies Basic ideas about all religions with their history. |
